AML / KYC program

A program built to the standard a regulator expects.

Customer due diligence (KYC/KYB)

Identity verification for individuals and beneficial owners, with enhanced due diligence where risk requires it.

Sanctions and PEP screening

Customers and transactions are screened against sanctions, watchlists and politically-exposed-person data.

Ongoing transaction monitoring

Activity is monitored against risk-based rules, with suspicious-transaction reporting where required by law.

Designated compliance officer

A named compliance officer owns the program, record-keeping and regulatory reporting obligations.

Regulatory framework

Operating to Canada's financial-crime standard.

As a registered Money Services Business, PlatinumEdge operates under the obligations of Canada's Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and the rules administered by FINTRAC. Our compliance program is documented, approved at senior level and reviewed regularly.

Our program includes

  • A documented, risk-based AML/CTF program owned by a designated Compliance Officer
  • Customer identification (KYC) and business verification (KYB), including beneficial-owner checks
  • Enhanced due diligence and source-of-funds checks for higher-risk relationships
  • Sanctions, watchlist and PEP screening at onboarding and on an ongoing basis
  • Ongoing, risk-based transaction monitoring
  • Suspicious and prescribed transaction reporting to FINTRAC
  • Record-keeping for the periods required by law
  • A periodic independent review of the program's effectiveness
  • Ongoing staff training on financial-crime obligations
Protection

How we protect you and your funds.

Safeguarding of funds

Client funds are held separately from our operating funds and reconciled, with the safeguarding controls a regulated MSB is expected to maintain.

Data protection & privacy

Personal and business data is handled in line with applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), encrypted in transit and at rest, and retained only as long as our obligations require.

Security & fraud controls

PCI-aligned processes, 3-D Secure, tokenisation, role-based access and continuous monitoring protect every account and transaction.

Policies

The detail, in plain language.

Terms of Service
Use of PlatinumEdge products is governed by our Terms of Service, provided in full during onboarding. Services are offered to eligible businesses subject to successful due diligence, applicable law, and the limitations of our MSB registration. We may decline, suspend or terminate services where required for legal, regulatory or risk reasons. The full agreement prevails over any summary on this page.
Privacy Policy
We collect and process personal and business information to provide our services, verify identity, prevent financial crime and meet our legal obligations. Data is handled in line with applicable Canadian privacy legislation and retained for the periods our regulatory obligations require. You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting us.
Complaints
We take complaints seriously. If something has gone wrong, contact us with the details and we will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it fairly and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Please include your account details and a clear description of the issue so we can resolve it quickly.
Risk and suitability
Digital assets are volatile and largely unregulated; values can fall as well as rise and you may lose capital. FX and cross-border payments carry their own risks. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Consider your circumstances and seek independent advice where appropriate.
Acceptable use
Our services must not be used for unlawful activity, sanctions evasion, fraud, or any business we have not approved during onboarding. Prohibited and restricted activities are set out in your agreement. We monitor for misuse and may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
Sanctions and restricted jurisdictions
We screen customers and transactions against applicable sanctions and watchlists and do not provide services to sanctioned persons or in prohibited jurisdictions. Availability of specific products depends on your jurisdiction, and some regions are not supported.
Conflicts of interest
We maintain controls to identify and manage conflicts of interest so that customers are treated fairly. Where a material conflict cannot be avoided, we disclose it. Our compliance function operates independently of commercial targets.
Cookies
This website uses essential cookies to function and may use limited analytics cookies to understand and improve the experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Full details are provided in our Cookie Policy at onboarding.
